| Funding for the Farmland Preservation Program |
The Morris County Preservation Trust Fund was established in 1994. The regulations governing the Trust Fund allocate 25% of the fund exclusively for farmland preservation purposes. The following table summarizes the county funding for the Farmland Preservation Program. The levy for 2008 has been set at 4.0 cents per $100 of equalized county valuation. This results in the Farmland Preservation Program being allocated approximately $11,033,000. This enables Morris County to work with the State Agriculture Development Committee (SADC) to purchase easements worth over $21 million.
